Primary experience and qualifications: legal work at the China Science and Technology Institute as part of the International Technology Cooperation and Communication Initiative (1982-1985); appointed as a lecturer to the Foreign Economic Commerce University law department (1988-1990); worked as a lawyer first in the American O'Melveny & Myers Law Firm and then in the American White & Case Law Firm (1994 to 1998); participated in China Southern Airline's successful listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; legal counsel for GM Shanghai.
